So, as part of our continuing efforts to ensure that we remain a significant player in the active travel space we set about engaging with local and national authorities to determine what was needed for the further development of active travel solutions across the country. This engagement has been on-going since 2023, and the result is our range of cycleway kerbs.
Manufactured by Killeshal in Ireland, and already installed in numerous locations around the country, our range of cycleway kerbs is the ideal solution for local and national authorities to encourage greater adoption of active travel, and they perfectly complement our range of cycle stands and shelters.
Killeshal has supplied both private and business customers, and civic authorities with cycle stands and shelters for many years and now we are supplying a range of precast concrete elements to build the infrastructure that will enable greater use of active travel.
This range of durable precast concrete cycleway kerbs comprises products designed to answer the needs of each of the cycleway use cases.
We have options for installation to safely segregate a pedestrian pathway and a cycleway that share the same surface (on the same level) and a unit for use where the cycleway is stepped-up from the road surface. We also manufacture a solution to suit locations where the cycleway shares the same surface level as the roadway, again providing a safer segregation of bicycle and motor vehicle traffic.
To complete the range, we also manufacture a set of cycleway kerbs specifically designed to offer ramped access to driveways or other points of access across the cycleway, maintaining accessibility for motor traffic while prioritising cycle traffic.
